ABOUT THE ROLE:
With the recent local and world markets shift toward zero emission vehicles and benefitting from Volgren’s strong focus on the design and development of innovative new bus solutions, we are looking to increase our workforce at this exciting time with talented individuals contributing to the overall success of our company.
We are currently hiring Section Leader for our Eagle Farm facility. This hands-on role requires a motivated and driven individual who thrives in a safety-conscious environment. This is a permanent, full-time position with a market-competitive pay rate based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with our Enterprise Agreement.
Ensure and continuously improve a safe working environment by enforcing Volgren's Code of Conduct, Safety, Environmental, and PPE policies.
Maintain and enhance 5S principles across the workplace.
Lead and engage your team by setting an example and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
Develop and train team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Manage direct reports and their duties, including hiring and workforce planning in collaboration with Human Resources.
Maintain and improve high-quality standards in all processes.
Ensure on-time delivery of buses by meeting production schedules and targets.
Optimize build processes to meet budgeted hours and drive efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide regular updates to the Operations Manager on production progress and performance.
Desired Skills and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE
Background in the manufacturing industry, with experience in data analysis.
Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
Willingness to expand upon the role
High level of problem-solving ability with focus on root cause elimination
Experience in a fast-paced production environment
Experience with conflict resolution and in managing a large team of employees to meet scheduled deadlines
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and Sharepoint
Experience in LEAN manufacturing
Knowledge of WHS regulations and requirements
Knowledge of EBA and company requirements to adhere to EBA
Crane Training preferred but not required
This position also requires the applicant to undertake a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol analysis, musculoskeletal evaluation and hearing test
