Job Description
About the Role:
To contribute to install, inspect, maintain and electrical wiring and electronic components in production of buses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Diagnose and repair electrical faults and computer-controlled systems used in automotive technology
Determine if a repair, upgrade, or new installation is required and carry out the process accordingly
Provide an accurate break down of the time and costs involved to repair the identified fault
Calibrate and test any electrical components and wiring following installation, repair, or upgrade
Service or replace defective electrical parts and wiring
Order parts and equipment as required
Install and test immobiliser, alarm systems and electrically operated accessories such as radios and air conditioners
Test headlight strength and alignment
Safely use hand and electrical tools
Follow all relevant safety guidelines and procedures
Using test equipment to locate electrical and electronic malfunctions
Dismantling and removing electrical and electronic assemblies and components
Connecting power-operated vehicle equipment and accessories to power supply
Adjusting engine control systems and timing
Testing and replacing defective alternators, generators, voltage regulators and starter motors
Cert III in Automotive Electrical Technology (AUR30320)
Qualifications in Auto electrician is highly regarded, however, any experience in this area supersedes qualifications
WORK/TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Auto electrical and mechanical knowledge
Knowledge of diagnostics tools for vehicle electrical and electronics
Ability to read electrical and electronic schematics and circuit diagrams.
Ability to carry out/repair electrical wiring in a range of vehicles.
Strong manual skills and precision when carrying out repair and testing.
Organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Problem-solving skill
Manufacturing or related industry experience is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, time management skills with ability to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaborate with teams.
Strong attention to detail, motivated, punctual, and prompt to act on support request
OTHER LICENSES/CHECKS/LANGUAGES/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Proficiency in English
Australian car driver license, MR driver license is a bonus
This position also requires the applicant to undertake a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol analysis, musculoskeletal evaluation and hearing test
